Ozarks
The Ozarks, also known as the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Highlands or Ozark Plateau, is a geo-cultural region located in the Midwest and South Central United States. The Ozarks cover a significant portion of northern Arkansas and most of the southern half of Missouri, with small segments in Oklahoma and Kansas. Part of the Upland South, the Ozarks shares some history and culture with Appalachia and the Ouachita Mountains regions, maintaining distinction from the adjacent Deep South and Great Plains.
