This is the live technology pulse of tukuk.org: the stories the world’s developers, founders and engineers are reading and arguing over right now. The list is the front page of Hacker News — the oldest community-run tech newswire, where every story and every rank comes from readers’ votes, not an editorial desk. We mirror it through the public Algolia API and re-cache it on our server every ten minutes, so this page loads instantly and never overloads the source.

How to read this page

Each row shows the story’s point score (up-votes minus down-votes), where it links, how long ago it was posted, who submitted it, and how many comments the discussion has drawn. Clicking the title opens the article itself; clicking the comment count opens the thread on Hacker News, where the argument usually happens. Because ranking is democratic, the front page mixes hard engineering news, security incidents, startup funding, scientific papers and the occasional keyboard review — that mix is exactly what makes it interesting.

The latest submissions show everything fresh off the wire before the vote has decided its fate. Show HN is where people demonstrate things they just built — a good place to find a tool nobody has heard of yet. Ask HN is the community asking itself: career advice, debugging war stories and “what should I read next”.

Stories and comments belong to their authors; the list comes from Hacker News via its public API and we do not alter the ranking. Outbound links are community-submitted and carry no endorsement. For our own long-form writing see the Blog, Learn and Wiki.
