🌍 Flags Quiz

ℹ️ What this tool does & how it works

The flags are drawn from ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 codes at runtime — every pair of regional-indicator letters is what renders a flag on your platform — so the data this quiz carries is plain text, and it works offline. Two directions: read a flag and choose the country, or read a name and pick the flag. Wrong options are always real countries, so a lucky guess still teaches something.

Why emoji flags look different everywhere

An emoji flag is not a picture — it is a two-letter ISO country code wearing a costume: each letter is a regional-indicator symbol, and platforms that draw flags pair them into artwork at render time. That is why the same question shows Nepal as a flag on a phone and as the letters NP on a desktop browser without flag fonts (Windows never drew flag glyphs at all). The quiz degrades honestly: when your platform will not paint the flag, the letter pair still identifies the country, and the answer text always names it either way.
