🗓 Assignment Prioritiser

Deadline-first ordering is a trap: the essay due Friday can quietly eat the week while the problem set due tomorrow waits behind it. The honest ranking divides each job’s effort by the days left around it — pressure per day, not just distance — and the top of that list is genuinely where tonight belongs.

Effort is a guess — make it a cheap one

The 1–5 number asks the only question that predicts procrastination: not is this important (yes, all of it is) but how big does this feel. Estimating effort takes ten seconds and is usually within a sitting of the truth; and once a dreaded 5 turns out to be a 3, the ranking updates for free. Re-run the list whenever the week changes — the maths costs nothing, which is the point of doing it here instead of in your head at 1am.
